Job Overview
We are looking for a confident, highly organised Recruitment, Training & Compliance Officer to take ownership of staff recruitment, onboarding, training records and workforce compliance. This is a key office-based role for someone who understands that in care, good recruitment and strong compliance directly affect the quality and safety of the service we provide.
You will be expected to be proactive, accurate and comfortable chasing outstanding documents, training and compliance actions. You must be able to work independently, keep excellent records and escalate concerns quickly when standards are not met.
Responsibilities
- Managing recruitment from job advertising and shortlisting through to interview and appointment.
- Completing safer recruitment checks including references, Right to Work, DBS, employment history and qualification checks.
- Coordinating new starter paperwork, induction, shadowing and probation requirements.
- Maintaining an accurate staff training matrix and monitoring all mandatory and refresher training.
- Booking training, sending reminders and ensuring certificates and competency records are properly filed.
- Monitoring staff compliance including DBS, Right to Work, driving documents, professional registrations and other required records.
- Auditing staff files and making sure they are complete, current and inspection-ready.
- Tracking supervisions, appraisals, competency assessments and probation reviews.
- Supporting the Registered Manager with CQC evidence, audits, action plans and workforce compliance reports.
- Escalating safeguarding, suitability, training or compliance concerns immediately.
- Producing clear weekly and monthly updates on recruitment, training and outstanding compliance actions.
Experience
- Previous experience within domiciliary care, home care or another CQC-regulated service.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and safer recruitment requirements.
- Experience maintaining training matrices and completing staff file audits.
- Experience coordinating induction, mandatory training and competency assessments.
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, HR, Business Administration, Learning & Development or a related subject.
- Train-the-Trainer qualification or experience delivering workplace training.
