Job Overview
We require an additional Roadside Breakdown Recovery Technician/Mechanic, where your mechanical expertise and quick thinking will be vital in delivering exceptional roadside assistance. This role offers an opportunity to work on a rotating schedule of five days on, followed by three days off,. You’ll be responding swiftly to roadside emergencies, diagnosing vehicle issues, and performing repairs on-site to get drivers back on the road promptly.
Duties
- Respond promptly to roadside breakdown calls across designated areas, providing efficient recovery and repair services.
- Diagnose vehicle issues using mechanical knowledge and specialized tools, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- prepare vehicles for towing, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during recovery operations.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and minor repairs to prevent future breakdowns.
- Utilize vehicle maintenance skills to replace parts, change tyres, jump-start batteries, and handle fluid top-ups as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, parts used, and repair procedures for each incident.
- Operate various equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with team members during shift changes to ensure seamless service delivery and share critical information about ongoing cases.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle repair or roadside assistance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy parts or equipment safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to diagnosing issues quickly under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work flexible hours on a rotating schedule (5 days on, 3 days off),
