About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused Tax Advisor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys providing high-quality advice to individuals, businesses, and owner-managed companies.
The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients, deliver accurate tax advice, identify planning opportunities, and ensure compliance with UK tax legislation.
The role can be tailored to either a full time or part time position. We offer hybrid working with 60% in the office in Farnham so living within a commuting distance to the office is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of personal and business tax clients.
- Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns.
- Advise clients on income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax matters.
- Identify tax planning opportunities while ensuring compliance with current UK legislation.
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Support clients with tax enquiries and compliance matters.
- Review tax computations and supporting documentation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and professional service.
- Keep up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and advise clients accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across accounts and audit teams where required.
About You
You will have:
- Previous experience working in UK taxation within an accountancy practice or tax consultancy.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK personal and business tax.
- ATT qualified, CTA qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities to add value for clients.
- Good IT skills, including experience with tax software and Microsoft Office.
