About the Role:
As a Barista, you’ll be at the heart of creating a relaxed and enjoyable café experience for students, staff, parents, and visitors. You’ll craft high-quality drinks, serve delicious food, and help maintain the warm, inclusive atmosphere that defines the White Lion Café. Whether it’s a quiet morning coffee or a busy lunchtime rush, you’ll bring energy, professionalism, and a positive attitude to every shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold drinks with consistency and care
- Take and process food orders with accuracy and attention to dietary needs, including allergies and intolerances
- Provide a welcoming and engaging service to every customer
- Handle payments efficiently and responsibly
- Maintain clean and tidy workstations and seating areas
- Support the café’s reputation and growth as a lively space for the school and local community
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- GCSE level education or equivalent
- Experience working in a café, small restaurant or catering environment
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with people
- Friendly, well-organised, and reliable with good timekeeping
- Ability to adapt your pace and focus depending on how busy the café is
Desirable:
- Barista training
- Food hygiene and COSHH training (training can be provided)
