Job Description: Area Peripatetic Team Leader
Pay: £15.50 Standard Rate
Hours: 48, 36 & 24 hours per week (12hour shifts)

We are currently recruiting an Area Peripatetic Team Leader to work as part of team supporting individuals with varying needs with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health needs in the CUMBRIA area. The role will also be providing relief cover across Cumbria from Carlisle to Egremont.

The Role

We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Area Peripatetic Team Leader to work within our service with individuals who have varying needs with learning disabilities, autism and mental health support who need 24-hour support throughout their day to day.
Role Description - Duties
- Hands-on care, supporting the client with their daily routines, encouraging independence in all areas this will be achieved via the management of the rota.
- Provides relief cover across Cumbria- from Carlisle to Egremont.
- Covers annual leave and staff sickness, supporting different care packages where needed.
- Working every other weekend.
- Supervise the care team, manage rotas and co-ordinate training based on learning needs
- Responsible for leading, supervising, supporting, and training staff
- Ensure outcomes of appointments are shared with the team and implemented in daily care routines
- Write and update Risk Assessments in collaboration with Service Manager.
- Ensure Risk Assessments are in place for all equipment used by Care Team in collaboration with Service manager.
- Complete/collate timesheets and communicate with Service Manager and Payroll team.
- Organise equipment reviews and book maintenance and servicing for all devises, this would include reconciling the client’s finances (money tin) and weekly fire checks as per Policy.
- Additional/optional responsibilities (depending on the client and family requirements):
- Communicating with therapists, specialists, and consultants and co-ordinating and attending appointments, effectively documenting all communication and appointment outcomes
- Medication stock checks and prescription requests
- Medical supplies: stock checks and ordering
- Experience and Skills Required
- Hands-on experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and or ADHD and Mental Health.
- Experience as a Support Worker / Team Leader in a Supported Living Setting or Residential Home
- Working in a family/private home
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
- Strong administrative and organisation skills
- Computer literate and accurate record keeping
- Understanding and experience of PBS Practice
- Prior experience working with individuals with epilepsy or medical training in seizure management.

- Able to stay calm in challenging situations

Schedule:
- 12 hour shifts – 08:00 to 20:00 / 20:00 to 08:00
- Monday to Friday
- Alternative weekend availability
- Overtime / Covering other services within and across Cumbria, Carlisle and Egremont
Licence/Certification:
- Autism (Preferred)
- Full UK driving licence required, as the role involves travelling between services.
- Refer a friend bonus is payable at
- £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.
- £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
