Summary
Dear Potential Candidate, St John's is a friendly, successful school and has excellent links with the parish and local community. The Governors of St Johns Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed member of staff to our existing hard-working team in school. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working successfully with children of all abilities to help them achieve all they can and prepare them for the future. This role will involve working 1-1 with a child who is on the SEN register and work some days in the After School Club. The successful applicant will need to work well as part of our team, be dedicated, enthusiastic and work flexibly and efficiently to meet the demands of the role. This will be a fixed term contract for one year in the first instance and dependent on the school budget.
The TA2 post will consist of:
- 37 hours as a Teaching Assistant 2 working 1-1 with a child with additional needs and 3-5 days (to be negotiated) in the After School Club 3.30pm to 5.45pm.
We are looking for someone who:
- can provide effective strategies to promote positive attitudes to learning
- has the skills and knowledge to support a child with cognition and learning needs
- can communicate effectively with parents, staff and other agencies
You must:
- be adaptable and flexible plans can change on a day to day and hour to hour basis in school
- be patient
- be a team player
- have good time management
- be a good communicator
- have an understanding of the support needed for a child with SEND and their family
