THE ROLE
At Proactive Extreme, we don’t wait for challenges to become problems — we’re proactive in finding solutions.We are looking for a professional, resilient and compassionate Extreme Cleaning Operative to join our specialist Extreme Services team.This is not a standard cleaning role.You will be working in environments that require a high level of professionalism, discretion, emotional resilience, attention to detail and strict adherence to health and safety procedures.Our Extreme Services team supports clients during some of the most difficult and sensitive circumstances they may ever experience. From trauma and biohazard cleaning to hoarding environments, unattended deaths and other specialist cleaning situations, your work will play an important part in restoring properties to a safe, hygienic and habitable condition.You will be part of a highly trained team where safety comes first, compassion matters and good enough is never good enough.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGAs an Extreme Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for delivering specialist cleaning, decontamination and restoration services across a range of challenging environments.Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out specialist trauma and extreme cleaning assignments.
- Cleaning and decontaminating areas affected by bodily fluids, biological contamination and other biohazards.
- Supporting specialist unattended death and decomposition cleaning assignments.
- Supporting sensitive suicide and trauma cleaning projects with professionalism and compassion.
- Carrying out hoarding and extreme clutter cleans, including the removal of accumulated waste and contaminated materials.
- Safely handling, segregating and disposing of hazardous and clinical-type waste in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
- Identifying potential hazards and ensuring appropriate control measures are in place before and throughout each job.
- Wearing and correctly using the required PPE and specialist equipment.
- Carrying out deep cleaning, sanitisation, disinfection and decontamination procedures.
- Supporting odour removal and specialist deodorisation processes where required.
- Removing contaminated materials and waste safely and efficiently.
- Cleaning hard surfaces, floors, walls, fixtures, fittings and affected areas to the required standard.
- Using specialist cleaning chemicals, machinery and equipment correctly and safely.
- Following COSHH, risk assessment, method statement and company health & safety procedures.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality when working in sensitive residential, commercial or emergency environments.
- Treating clients, relatives, landlords, property managers and other stakeholders with dignity, sensitivity and respect.
- Working effectively alongside supervisors, colleagues, emergency services, property professionals and other relevant organisations.
- Completing job documentation, photographs, checklists and reports accurately.
- Maintaining equipment, vehicles and PPE in a clean, safe and operational condition.
- Reporting incidents, hazards, damaged equipment or additional site requirements to your supervisor.
- Representing Proactive professionally at every location.

Trauma & Biohazard Environments Specialist cleaning following traumatic incidents, accidents or situations involving biological contamination.
Hoarding & Extreme Clutter Helping transform heavily cluttered or hazardous properties into safe, functional living environments through compassionate clearance, deep cleaning and sanitisation.
Unattended Death & Decomposition Discreetly and professionally restoring properties following unattended deaths, including the specialist removal of biological contamination and associated odours.
Sensitive Trauma & Suicide Cleaning Working with the utmost discretion and sensitivity to restore environments following traumatic incidents.
Contaminated Environments Removing biological hazards, contaminated materials and other risks while following strict decontamination procedures.
Emergency & Rapid Response Responding to urgent assignments where a property needs to be made safe as quickly as possible.
THIS ROLE REQUIRES MORE THAN CLEANING SKILLS

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Essential
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable, particularly within specialist, industrial, healthcare, facilities management or extreme cleaning environments.
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Physically capable of carrying out demanding cleaning and clearance work.
- Comfortable working with PPE for extended periods.
- Able to work around unpleasant odours, waste, bodily fluids and heavily contaminated environments.
- Emotionally resilient and able to maintain professional boundaries.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to high standards.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- A professional and respectful approach to clients and colleagues.
- Willingness to travel to different sites.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
Desirable
- Previous experience in trauma, biohazard, hoarding or specialist cleaning.
- Experience working within healthcare, care, facilities management, waste management or emergency response environments.
- COSHH awareness.
- Biohazard / infection control experience.
- Experience handling specialist cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Experience with waste segregation and disposal procedures.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant cleaning, health & safety or specialist cleaning qualifications.
Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
