Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer (SC Cleared) to support a major MOD programme delivering critical maritime and submarine infrastructure capability.
This role involves working within a high-hazard environment, supporting safety management, safety case delivery, and system assurance activities for complex engineering systems.
Duties
- Develop and maintain Safety Management Systems and Safety Plans
- Support delivery of Safety Cases and Safety Assessments
- Maintain Hazard Logs and risk assessments
- Work closely with MOD stakeholders, programme teams and safety authorities
- Ensure compliance with MOD safety standards (ASEMS, Def Stan, JSPs)
- Contribute to overall safety assurance and governance processes
Experience
- Experience working within MOD / Defence programmes
- Strong experience in Safety Case development and hazard management
- Familiarity with ASEMS / Def Stan / JSP safety processes
- Experience working in high-hazard environments
- Experience engaging with safety/regulatory authorities
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory)
Desirable
- Experience working with maritime, submarine or naval systems
- Experience in infrastructure or facility safety cases (e.g. docks / ship systems)
- Chartered or working towards professional engineering status
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance
- Ability to travel occasionally to Clyde (Scotland)
- Immediate or short-notice availability
Pay: Up to £550.00 per day
