About the role
As Accounts Assistant at Immediate Transportation Co, you'll play a key role in keeping our customer accounts accurate and up to date, supporting both the sales ledger and purchase ledger. Cash allocated correctly, queries resolved quickly, ledgers reconciled properly, all of it matters to the wider business, and this role sits right at the heart of it.
You'll report to the Finance Manager and work alongside the Assistant Accountant, Credit Controller, Operations and Office Managers to keep things running smoothly.
What you'll be doing:

Allocating customer receipts daily and resolving unallocated cash

Setting up and maintaining customer accounts in Sage

Managing customer details across Sage and Freight ERP

Reviewing the Aged Debtors Report weekly and chasing missing information

Raising sales invoices and sending monthly customer statements

Updating the cashbook daily and supporting bank reconciliations

Supporting purchase ledger tasks, including Courier Exchange invoice administration and SmartPay reconciliation

Posting monthly credit card expenses and completing intercompany reconciliations

Importing daily transactions into Sage from Freight ERP

Reconciling prepaid purchase ledger accounts, including HMRC customs accounts
What we're looking for:
Essential:
-
Previous experience in a sales ledger or all-round finance role
-
Experience using Sage or equivalent accounting software

Strong Excel skills for reconciliations and reporting, including pivot tables

Good attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues
-
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Desirable:
-
Experience in logistics, freight or supply chain
-
AAT qualified or studying towards it
