We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Bulky Item Collection Driver & Void Property Cleaner to join our team.
Working as part of a team, you will assist with the collection and disposal of bulky household items, as well as the clearance, cleaning, and preparation of void properties and temporary accommodation for future occupancy.
Using a company vehicle, you will travel to various properties across the area, ensuring homes are cleared, cleaned, and presented to a high standard.
This varied role combines driving, property clearance, and cleaning duties and would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is committed to providing an excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company Luton vans to collect and transport bulky items from residential and commercial locations.
- Plan and follow efficient collection routes to ensure services are delivered effectively.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Load and unload items safely, adhering to manual handling and health and safety procedures.
- Complete collection records and associated documentation accurately.
- Assist with the clearance and cleaning of void properties and temporary accommodation.
- Ensure properties are prepared to the required standard for future occupancy.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, residents, clients, and partner organisations.
- Comply with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and road traffic legislation.
Person Specification
- Full Driving Licence (Category B).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual handling duties.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering a high-quality service.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday.
- Occasional weekend working may be required to meet operational and business needs.
Experience
- Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. We welcome applications from individuals with the right attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.
What We Offer
- Starting rate of £13.50 per hour, increasing to £14.00 per hour after successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.
