Self-Employed Cleaner / Cleaning Contractor
The Homekeeping Collective is looking for reliable and experienced self-employed cleaners to join our trusted network and complete cleaning assignments across Birmingham, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.
We provide premium cleaning services to homes, short-stay properties, landlords, property managers and businesses. We are looking for cleaners who take pride in their work, communicate professionally and consistently deliver a high standard.
Types of work available
Assignments may include:
- Regular domestic cleaning
- Deep cleaning
- Airbnb and short-stay changeovers
- End-of-tenancy cleaning
- Office and commercial cleaning
- After-builders cleaning
- Linen changes and light laundry duties where agreed
You do not need to provide every service. Let us know which types of cleaning you are most experienced in.
Pay and working arrangements
- Rates generally equivalent to £13–£25 per hour, depending on experience, job type and requirements
- Pay and job details agreed before each assignment
- Flexible, booking-based work
- Choose whether to accept or decline each offered assignment
- Opportunities for repeat and regular bookings
- No fixed or guaranteed weekly hours
Responsibilities
- Complete each agreed cleaning scope to a high professional standard
- Arrive punctually and communicate promptly about any issues
- Follow the property checklist and customer instructions
- Treat customers, their homes and belongings with care and respect
- Report damage, access problems or work outside the agreed scope
- Provide completion photographs when required and authorised
- Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality
Requirements
- Previous professional cleaning experience
- Reliable personal transport and willingness to travel locally
- Access to suitable cleaning equipment and products, unless otherwise agreed
- A smartphone with WhatsApp
- Good communication and attention to detail
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Ability to provide references
- Public liability insurance, or willingness to obtain it before accepting assignments
- Existing DBS certificate is beneficial, or willingness to obtain a Basic DBS check
- Registered or willing to register as self-employed and responsible for your own tax and National Insurance
Important
This is a self-employed contractor opportunity, not a guaranteed-hours employed position. Work is offered according to customer demand, and contractors may accept or decline individual assignments.
