Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and energetic Barback to support our busy bar environment. The ideal candidate will assist bartenders by ensuring the bar area remains stocked, clean, and organised, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable customer experience. Previous experience in hospitality or food preparation is advantageous, but a positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the hospitality industry and develop your skills in a dynamic setting.
Duties
- Restock bar supplies including spirits, mixers, glassware, and utensils to ensure seamless service during operating hours
- Assist bartenders with preparing garnishes and basic food items as required
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning glassware, utensils, and work surfaces
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages promptly to management for replenishment
- Support with setting up and clearing tables or bar areas as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Engage courteously with customers and staff to foster a welcoming environment
- Assist in opening and closing duties to ensure the bar is prepared for service or properly cleaned afterwards
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or food preparation is desirable
- Experience in a barista role, serving staff, or hotel environment is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen procedures is beneficial
- A friendly, professional manner with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or shifts as required by the business
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn about the hospitality industry
