An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join an established financial planning team based in Knutsford.
Working closely with Financial Advisers, you will provide high-quality technical and research support across a diverse range of client cases. The role will involve preparing detailed, compliant and client-focused suitability reports, analysing existing financial arrangements, supporting financial planning strategies and assisting with cases from initial advice through to completion.
This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong Paraplanner who enjoys taking ownership of cases, producing high-quality written work and working collaboratively with Advisers and wider support teams.
- Prepare accurate, clear and compliant suitability reports and recommendation letters.
- Conduct detailed research and analysis of clients’ existing financial arrangements.
- Review client portfolios and financial plans, identifying potential areas for improvement.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Financial Advisers on a range of financial planning matters.
- Research and assess Life, Pension and Investment products and solutions.
- Support Advisers in developing appropriate and technically sound financial planning strategies.
- Produce product research, comparisons, illustrations and supporting documentation.
- Take ownership of paraplanning cases from initial instruction through to completion.
- Work closely with Financial Advisers and Administrators to ensure cases progress efficiently and accurately.
- Liaise with product providers and platforms where required to obtain information and progress outstanding business.
- Monitor the progress of new business and ensure actions are followed up within appropriate timescales.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive client records across relevant back-office systems.
- Ensure all documentation and client files are complete, accurate and compliant.
- Prepare detailed cashflow models to support client recommendations and financial planning strategies.
- Utilise financial planning and investment research tools to analyse client circumstances and investment arrangements.
- Assist with the preparation of client meeting packs and supporting materials.
- Complete research and analysis to support recommendations across pensions, investments, protection and wider financial planning.
- Assist with Trust planning and other more complex areas of financial planning where required.
- Support Advisers with pre- and post-meeting requirements, including research, recommendations and follow-up actions.
- Build strong working relationships with Financial Advisers, Administrators and other members of the financial planning team.
- Help ensure an efficient workflow between advice, paraplanning and administration.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and external providers to ensure cases are progressed smoothly.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve processes, efficiency and the overall client experience.
- Provide support and technical input to colleagues where appropriate.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working as a Paraplanner or Senior Paraplanner within a financial planning or wealth management environment.
You will be technically confident, highly organised and able to manage multiple cases while maintaining a consistently high standard of work.
- Previous experience working within a Paraplanning role.
- Strong report-writing and written communication skills.
- Good technical knowledge across pensions, investments and life/protection products.
- Experience preparing detailed suitability reports and financial planning documentation.
- Ability to analyse complex client information and translate it into clear, client-focused recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, compliant work.
- Ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of cases.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Advisers and support teams.
- Experience using cashflow modelling software.
- Experience using investment research and analytical tools.
- Experience with Trust planning would be advantageous.
- Experience with Drawdowns would be advantageous.
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent qualification is desirable, although candidates with strong relevant paraplanning experience will also be considered.
