With an exciting and growing portfolio—including an Urgent Care Centre, Women’s Health Hub, Lipid Optimisation services, and new hub-based models of care—we are now looking for a proactive, hands-on Service Manager to join our team.
About the role
This is a high-impact, operational role where you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of key healthcare services across multiple sites.
You’ll be a visible, supportive leader, ensuring services run safely, efficiently and deliver an outstanding experience for patients, staff and partners.
This role is site-based (Royal Berkshire Hospital) and hands-on—ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced healthcare environments and enjoys being close to the frontline.
What you’ll be doing:
Operational leadership
- Lead day-to-day service delivery across multiple healthcare sites
- Ensure services meet KPIs, quality standards, and contractual requirements
- Support the mobilisation of new services and improvement of existing ones
- Manage patient flow, capacity, rotas and operational performance
People management & team leadership
- Line manage administrative and operational teams
- Oversee rota planning, sickness, absence and workforce planning
- Deliver supervision, appraisals and staff development
- Build a positive, inclusive, high-performing team culture
Systems, data & performance
- Use EMIS Web (or similar systems) for appointments, reporting and oversight
- Monitor activity, utilisation, DNAs and workforce data
- Produce reports and insights for leadership and commissioners
Quality, governance & improvement
- Ensure safe, compliant service delivery
- Manage incidents, complaints and risks appropriately
- Support audits, service evaluation and continuous improvement
- Contribute to innovation and new models of care
Partnership working
- Work closely with clinicians, PCNs, commissioners and system partners
- Act as a key communication link across services and stakeholders
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Experience:
- healthcare operational/ service management: 1 year (preferred)
