We're looking for an enthusiastic, confident and motivated Optical Assistant to join our growing team. If you're passionate about helping people, enjoy working with the public and thrive in a varied role, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Assisting in choosing suitable frames and lenses.
- Booking appointments and managing the diary.
- Carrying out pre-screening tests and supporting the Optometrist.
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting spectacles.
- Processing orders and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Keeping the practice clean, organised and well presented.
- Representing Crewe Optical within the local community by, canvassing and promoting our services, helping to attract new patients and raise awareness of our practice. Canvassing is a core part of this position. You will spend part of your working week promoting Crewe Optical within the local community by engaging with members of the public, distributing marketing materials, and encouraging new patients to visit the practice. Confidence, enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential, as you'll play a direct role in the continued growth of the business.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, approachable and professional attitude.
- Previous optical experience is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided.
- Customer service experience is advantageous.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual and a strong team player.
- Must be confident approaching and engaging with members of the public, as community canvassing forms a significant part of the role.
