Assistant Lawyer - Complex Injury
Manchester | Hybrid Working (1 Day Per Week in the Office)
Join a Team handling some significant injury claims
Are you an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer looking to take the next step in your career?
We're seeking an ambitious and proactive Assistant Lawyer to join our highly regarded Complex Injury team in Manchester. Whether your background is claimant or defendant litigation, we'd love to hear from you if you're confident managing investigations, progressing cases independently, and thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment.
You'll work closely with an experienced Partner on a fascinating caseload of Employer's Liability, Public Liability and Road Traffic Accident claims, with values ranging from £100 thousand through to £750 million. These are complex, high-profile matters often involving catastrophic injuries, making this an exceptional opportunity to develop your technical expertise whilst working on nationally significant cases.
Working alongside the Partner and wider team, you'll play a key role in progressing complex personal injury claims through all stages of the litigation process, including:
- Managing investigations and identifying key liability and quantum issues
- Reviewing and analysing medical, liability and quantum evidence
- Interviewing witnesses and preparing witness statements
- Drafting legal documentation, pleadings and applications
- Liaising with clients, insurers, experts, counsel and other stakeholders
- Attending conferences, mediations, settlement meetings and court hearings
- Supporting the development of case strategy and claim resolution
We're looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of tasks, working proactively and helping drive matters forward.
We're interested in speaking with solicitors, CILEX professionals or experienced litigation fee earners who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience handling personal injury litigation matters
- Experience on either the claimant or defendant side
- Excellent investigation and analytical skills
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently
- Strong understanding of liability and quantum issues
- Outstanding communication and client relationship skills
- The ability to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines
- A positive, collaborative attitude and desire to continue developing professionally
Experience dealing with high-value or complex injury claims would be advantageous but is not essential.
Why Join Us?
This is a team that genuinely invests in its people.
You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone is approachable, knowledge-sharing is encouraged, and professional development is a priority. The team works with an interesting and diverse client base, providing exposure to a wide variety of challenging and rewarding work.
In return, you'll benefit from:
- Hybrid working with just one office day per week
- Exposure to high-value, complex litigation
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- A supportive Partner committed to helping you grow
- The opportunity to work alongside recognised experts in complex injury litigation
If you're looking for a role where you can make a meaningful contribution, develop your expertise and work on truly exceptional cases, we'd love to hear from you.
