Airpets is one of the UK's leading pet relocation companies. Family owned and operated since 1966, Airpets occupies 4 acres opposite Heathrow Terminal 5. Facilities include over 140 kennels, exercise paddocks and on-site veterinary surgery.
We now seek highly motivated Animal Welfare Assistant staff to deliver the highest welfare standard to pets in our care.
The ideal candidate would have a friendly, mature and professional attitude, be reliable and be able to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- IT literate, ideally with experience of using kennel management software.
- Experience working with Cats and Dogs of all breeds and temperaments is essential.
- Experience working with reptiles, rodents and birds is preferred, but not essential.
- Must be willing to be rabies vaccinated.
- A minimum level 3 animal care qualification or similar is preferable, but not essential.
- Excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Fine attention to detail whilst working under pressure.
- Self-motivated.
- Happy to work outside in all weathers.
- Flexible to meet business needs.
The role is full time at 35 hours per week with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break each day.
The shift pattern is 2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off and so on. Core hours of 8.30am – 6.15pm. Every other weekend is a 3 day weekend.
Candidates must be available to work 365 days a year including weekends, public and school holidays. Holiday allowance is 20 days per year. Overtime and/or days-in-lieu available.
