Overview
We are seeking a experienced and customer-focused Carpets and Flooring Sales Associate to start immediately. This role involves engaging with clients to understand their flooring needs, providing expert advice, and guiding them through the selection process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and a keen eye for merchandising. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop sales expertise within a vibrant retail environment specialising in carpets and flooring solutions.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to assess their flooring requirements and provide tailored recommendations
- Demonstrate product features and benefits effectively, utilising knowledge of materials, styles, and installation options
- Assist clients in selecting suitable products by showcasing samples and explaining technical specifications
- Upsell additional products or services to maximise customer satisfaction and sales opportunities
- Maintain organised displays of merchandise, ensuring the showroom is visually appealing and well-stocked
- Utilise SketchUp or CAD software to assist clients with visualising flooring layouts within their spaces
- Engaging with contractors, fitters, property developers to establish working relationship.
- Process sales transactions accurately while providing exceptional customer service
- Follow up with clients post-sale to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships
- Keep abreast of industry trends, new products, and competitors' offerings to maintain a competitive edge
Experience
- Proven experience in retail sales, ideally within the flooring or home improvement sector
- Multilingual abilities, particularly fluency in Spanish alongside English, are advantageous for serving diverse clientele
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and persuasively
- Basic IT & maths skills for calculating measurements, pricing, and estimates accurately
- Organisational skills to manage multiple client interactions and maintain an orderly showroom environment
- Basic computer skills like using excel spreadsheets, word documents, emails etc
- Experience in upselling techniques and merchandising strategies to enhance sales performance

Pay: £29,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
