About the Role
We are looking for an experienced JIB-Approved Electrician to join our team and support the delivery of electrical installation, maintenance and testing works across a range of commercial and NHS projects.
Working closely with the electrical Site Manager and site teams, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical work safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and current regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and testing works to a high standard.
- Install containment systems including cable tray, trunkings, ladder and conduits.
- Install ELV & LV cabling networks (SWA’s, PVC singles, F/A, Data, Belden’s & Multi cores)
- Install, terminate and connect electrical equipment, accessories and distribution systems.
- Read and work from electrical drawings, schematics and project specifications.
- Carry out inspection, testing and fault-finding as required.
- Ensure all works comply with BS 7671 (18th Edition) and relevant project requirements.
- Work safely and comply with all company and site health & safety procedures.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and professionalism.
- Coordinate effectively with site management, other trades and project teams.
- Complete relevant site documentation, testing records and paperwork.
- Work in a team and independently, taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
Essential Requirements:
- JIB Approved / ECS Gold Card.
- Recognised electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – BS 7671.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Approved electrical role.
- Proven experience within commercial, industrial or construction environments.
- Good understanding of electrical installation practices and current regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong practical electrical installation and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
- Reliable, professional and safety conscious approach to work.
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
- Experience working within NHS or healthcare environments.
- Experience with larger commercial electrical installations.
- Familiarity with Guidance Note 3 and inspection and testing requirements.
