Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving, good communication skills, and the ability to navigate urban and rural routes effectively. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on punctuality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries across designated areas.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and update tracking systems as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when necessary, including loading, unloading, and organising stock.
- Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE when required.
Requirements
- Valid UK driver’s licence. With a maximum of 6 points
- Strong driving skills
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
- Experience is desirable for handling goods efficiently.
- Ability to navigate using GPS devices or maps effectively under different conditions.
- Organised with the ability to manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
- Physical fitness to load/unload goods and undertake long periods of driving or standing during shifts.
End of shift time varies. The shift ends when deliveries are complete.
Pay: Up to £32,000.00 per year
