Join Our Legacy of Change and Community
At Progress Housing Group, we’re more than just homes, we’re a community. With 900+ passionate colleagues, we’re committed to making a difference every day, supporting people to live independently and thrive.
We're now looking for an Income Collection Officer to join our Housing Operations team on a fixed term basis. If you're passionate about supporting customers, building positive relationships and helping people sustain their tenancies, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
As an Income Collection Officer, you'll work closely with tenants to help them manage their rent accounts and sustain successful tenancies. Taking a supportive and customer-focused approach, you'll build positive relationships, provide practical advice and guidance, and help customers access the support they need to maintain their homes.
This role sits within a local Area Housing Team rather than a central income collection function, giving you the opportunity to take a more personalised approach to supporting customers and understanding their individual circumstances.
You'll manage your own caseload, working with customers to agree payment arrangements, identify appropriate support and achieve positive outcomes. While legal action may occasionally be required, the focus of the role is on early intervention, tenancy sustainment and helping customers find solutions.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position covering a period of maternity leave within the team. You'll join an established Area Housing Team and play an important role in supporting customers and sustaining successful tenancies during this period.
The role offers a high degree of flexibility, with agile working and the ability to work predominantly from home following your onboarding period. Travel within the team's shared patch may occasionally be required for customer visits, meetings or tenancy-related matters, although this is expected to be relatively infrequent.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers.
- Empathy and understanding when supporting people through challenging situations.
- A positive, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to manage your own workload and work independently.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Why Progress?
Because we’re people-focused, genuine, and forward-thinking. We care deeply about our colleagues and communities, and we’ll support you to grow in a role that really matters.
Work-life balance
- 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 31 days after 5 years' service (pro rata where applicable), with the option to purchase additional leave and a paid day off for your birthday.
- Agile working with flexibility to work predominantly from home following onboarding and training.
- Family-friendly policies and enhanced leave provisions.
