As a Stockperson on our Free Range Pig Breeding Unit, you will play a vital role in upholding the high standards of animal welfare expected by our company and supply chain. You will take on daily responsibilities for the humane and considerate care of our herd of breeding gilts, sows, and their offspring.
You will receive support from your manager and utilise modern, well-maintained equipment and tractors. This position represents an important step forward in your career, not merely a job.

Key Responsibilities:
- Animal welfare standards
- Contribute to the raising of high-health piglets and provide optimal care for gilts and sows
- Feed livestock using a trailed feeder or tote bin and scoop.
- Conduct daily health checks on all livestock, providing treatment as needed.
- Maintain electric fencing to ensure safety for both the public and livestock, including strimming to prevent unwanted earthing.
- Wash tents and huts between batches to uphold biosecurity and promote herd health.
- Perform artificial insemination on breeding stock, including escorting gilts and sows to the service hub.
- Culling sows, boars, and weaners/piglets for transport when necessary.
- Execute additional tasks as required, based on your capabilities.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions.
- Comply with standard operating procedures and Health & Safety guidelines
