The Role
The role is a on a fixed term basis and is a key within our production and quality process in Kirriemuir, Angus. You will ensure the delivery of our production plans ensuring that our products are to specified quality and consistency standards. You will report to the Production Manager and will work to the quality guidelines.
You will be comfortable using automated machinery and with the ability to sew and/or hem sheets using an industrial machine and examine subsequent sheeting products to ensure the highest quality. The role involves manual handling in a labour-intensive environment. Training to be provided to successful candidates.
You will be required to: -
- Carry out machining, eye-letting, examining, and ticketing.
- Ensure sheeting has been sewn correctly to the required standard and specification.
- Work effectively as part of the production team be able to respond to changing requirements and promote a ‘right first time, no fault’ forward approach to quality.
- Monitor quality and report any faults or requirements, where appropriate.
- Manage and maintain a safe working environment through the strict adherence to company health and safety rules and procedures.
- Assist in other tasks or areas, when the business needs require.
- Maintain a good standard of housekeeping within your work area.
Knowledge and Skills
You will ideally have: -
- The ability able to work safely, effectively and productively with minimal supervision;
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify problems;
- Good communication skills and can anticipate the needs of others when communicating and check for understanding;
- The ability to work both as part of a team or on an individual basis;
- Flexibility and drive to respond to changing requirements in order to achieve customer expectations on time;
Training to be provided to successful candidates.
Working Hours
The working hours are : -
- Monday-Friday 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm alternating weekly.
