Dessert Chef & Counter — Kasa & Kin, Soho
Kasa & Kin is London's leading Filipino restaurant. We opened in Soho in 2021, but our founders have been developing and perfecting ube since 2016 — longer than anyone else in the UK.
Ube is the purple yam at the heart of Filipino dessert culture. We have the largest range of ube desserts, ube baked goods, and ube drinks of any restaurant in the country. Our dessert programme — cheesecake, halo halo, brownies, taho ice cream, the ube tasting platter — is a genuine part of why people come back. On busy services, our dessert attach rate runs above 70%.
This role exists to own that.
What the job is
You will make the desserts. Ube cheesecake, ube brownie à la mode, mango tsunami cheesecake, halo halo, molten ensaymada, sans rival. You will learn our recipes, maintain consistency, and care about quality at every stage. When you are not in the kitchen, you will be on the bakery counter — greeting guests, explaining the range, serving with warmth and confidence. This is a small team. The counter shifts matter as much as the kitchen shifts.
What we need from you
Solid pastry or dessert skills — you know what you are doing in a professional kitchen. You take consistency seriously: same product, every time. You are genuinely personable — guests at the counter will ask you about ube, about the cheesecake, about what to try. You should enjoy those conversations, not tolerate them. You are flexible across morning and evening shifts and calm when service is busy. Filipino food knowledge is a bonus. Enthusiasm for it is not optional.
What this is not
It is not a production role. It is not a bakery-only role. And it is not for someone who wants to stay in the kitchen and not be seen. The counter is part of the job and we need someone who is good at it.
