Job Summary
Mitie are looking to expand our already thriving service department by taking on a Gas Suppression Service Engineer to join our special risks team.
The ideal candidate must have a good work ethic, be customer focused, be electrically experienced with a range of suppression systems and auxiliary equipment and most importantly be flexible in their approach to work due to the reactive nature of our niche market.

The role will involve working Individually and with our other experienced Service Engineers to;
- Carry out essential PPM on gas suppression systems and associated equipment
- Carry out plant and site isolations prior to commencing with the PPM
- Create detailed reports following every service visit, logging site faults and potential remedial works
- Attend and be able to diagnose faults and carry out minor repairs on gas suppression systems
- Carry out rom integrity testing of protected enclosures
We're ideally looking for a dedicated service engineer that has a lot of passion for the industry and will cover a range of sites to provide essential servicing / testing of our client's gas suppression systems. The role will involve traveling to and from the clients sites covering large areas and will include some overnight stays depending on distances from home.
As a service engineer you will work closely with our office and the client to ensure that every site functions properly, servicing and testing all aspects of their system and logging any defects you may find on site to ensure a quick turnaround of remedials so it is at its upmost best operation condition.
We will conduct periodic reviews of training using matrix systems and track your progress with us as a multi skilled engineer and Mitie will provide ‘on the job', in-house and external training courses to help push you to the next level of your career.
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent working knowledge of fire alarms a must
- Previous experience of working with, and maintaining, various types of gas suppression systems
- Be able to demonstrate, through certification or through course attendances knowledge of gas suppression standards and codes of practice
- F-Gas Certification
- Level 2 - Enclosure Integrity Certification would be an advantage
- Full Driver's License
