Warehouse Manager / Driver
Location: Cambridge, with travel to client and event sites as required
My client is looking for a practical, organised and hands-on Warehouse Manager/Driver to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse and equipment operation.
This is a varied and physically active role within a busy events and rigging business. You will ensure that equipment is stored correctly, stock records are accurate and equipment is picked, packed and ready for projects on time. You will also manage goods in and out and undertake deliveries and collections when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day organisation of the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate stock and equipment records.
- Pick, pack and prepare equipment for projects and events.
- Check and process equipment returning from projects.
- Manage goods in and goods out, including all associated documentation.
- Load and unload vehicles safely.
- Ensure equipment is stored safely, logically and efficiently.
- Identify and report missing, damaged or faulty equipment.
- Use the Company's stock and IT systems to maintain accurate records.
- Undertake deliveries and collections using Company vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and appropriately.
- Support regular stocktakes and equipment audits.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow Company health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Work closely with the Operations and Projects teams to ensure equipment is ready when required.
- Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the warehouse, equipment and logistics operation.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Previous warehouse, stock or equipment management experience.
- Experience of stock control, goods in/goods out, picking and packing.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills and confidence using stock management or similar systems.
- Experience driving vans or similar commercial vehicles.
- Able to undertake the physical requirements of the role, including regular lifting, carrying, loading and unloading, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
- A practical, hands-on and proactive approach.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Due to the requirements of the Company's motor insurance policy, drivers must currently be aged 25 or over and hold a manual driving licence.
Desirable
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) certification.
- PASMA certification.
- IPAF certification.
- Experience within events, production, rigging, construction, hire or another equipment-based environment.
Health & Safety
The role involves handling equipment which can be large and heavy. Appropriate manual handling techniques, lifting equipment and safe systems of work must be followed at all times.
The Company will provide training in its operating procedures, safe systems of work and any other mandatory health and safety training required for the role.
Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
