We are seeking a practical and reliable Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of site facilities, utilities, and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of building services, including lighting, motors, pumps, pipework, purified water systems, and general site infrastructure.
This hands-on role requires a broad range of maintenance skills across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facilities disciplines. The ideal candidate will have experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance and be committed to maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the site.
- Maintain and repair lighting systems, electrical circuits, distribution equipment, and emergency lighting.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair motors, pumps, fans, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Support the operation and maintenance of purified water systems and other site utilities.
- Install, repair, and modify pipework, valves, fittings, and related mechanical services.
- Respond to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine inspections of plant rooms, utility systems, and building services equipment.
- Perform minor fabrication, assembly, and repair work as required.
- Assist with contractor supervision and ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
- Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability, efficiency, and site performance.
- Support general building maintenance activities including doors, fixtures, fittings, and infrastructure repairs.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer, Facilities Engineer, or Building Services Maintenance role.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, including lighting, motors, controls, and fault finding.
- Mechanical maintenance experience with pumps, pipework, valves, and associated plant equipment.
- Knowledge of water treatment, purified water systems, or utility services would be advantageous.
- Basic plumbing skills and experience working on building services systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
- Experience using maintenance management systems and completing maintenance records.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Awareness of health, safety, and compliance requirements within a maintenance environment.

Pay: £49,000.00-£57,000.00 per year
