Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated LGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles to deliver our products efficiently across various locations. Your expertise in driving and delivery will ensure our customers receive their orders on time, maintaining Briarwood’s reputation for excellent service.
As a LGV Driver, you play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive their materials on time and in great condition..
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering materials to our customers - making sure they get exactly what they need, when they need it
- Building great relationships on the road - acting as an ambassador for our brand
- Staying up to date with Health & Safety practices - including tachographs, training, and delivery administration
- Taking pride in your vehicle - ensuring it meets all relevant standards
You’ll be responsible for safely and professionally transporting stock (mainly pipeline and heating products) from our branches to customers. This role involves multi-drop deliveries, with possible returns to the branch to reload for your next run.
Ideally, you will be experienced in loading your own lorry, but we can help with that too.
Duties also include:
- Safely operate LGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, to transport goods to designated sites
- Plan and follow optimal delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals
- Load and unload products with care, adhering to safety protocols and handling instructions
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness
- Complete all necessary documentation for deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered
- Maintain a clean and secure vehicle environment at all times
What you’ll bring:
We don’t expect you to know everything from day one – If you have a Class 1 Licence, we’ll give you the training, tools, and support to succeed. What matters most is your positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in. A lorry mounted fork lift licence is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker.
Most importantly, you will bring a passion for delivering excellent service, an ability to build a strong relationships with customers colleagues and have a drive to succeed with a professional attitude.

- A competitive hourly rate: Depending on experience, our pay ranges from £15-£17 per hour.

We’ll support you to gain your Moffett certification if you don’t already have it. Training will be provided by us, and you’ll become fully qualified to operate Lorry Mounted Fork Lift equipment. A training agreement will apply, meaning if you leave the business within a set period after completing the training, you’ll be required to repay the cost.
Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
