The role:
AIS is looking for a highly organised Materials Controller to join our team in Gloucester. Being proactive and detail orientated you will ensure that all materials and consumables required for production and operations are available in the right quantities at the right time.
What will you do as our Materials Controller:

Plan, monitor and maintain stock levels or raw materials and consumables

Stock management and control including the stores’ function

Conduct regular stock audits

Ensure availability of stock and materials to meet customer and production demands

Maintain accurate records and systems
-
Coordinate with the stores team to ensure materials are received, checked and stored safely and correctly on arrival

Support the management of returns, quarantined stock, non-conforming materials and disposals in line with company policy and regulatory requirements

Raise purchase orders and follow goods receipting procedures

Work with suppliers, logistics providers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues relating to delivery dates, quantities, quality or documentation

Carry out ad hoc sourcing of materials, components and consumables to support production requirements.

Identify and source alternative suppliers where required to prevent material shortages or production delays.

Expedite outstanding orders and proactively follow up late or at-risk deliveries.

Obtain and compare supplier quotations to support purchasing decisions.

Monitor supplier performance against price, quality, delivery, and service expectations.
What are we looking for in our Materials Controller:

Experienced in a similar role within a manufacturing environment

Good understanding of stock control principles

Ability to use software to record and analyse stock data
-
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet production and delivery deadlines

Effective communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
-
Proven problem-solving skills to be able to identify material related issues early and put solutions in place
-
Able to interpret and analyse data effectively

Annual salary of up to £33,000.00 per annum depending on experience

This is a full-time, office based, permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week 08:00-16:45 Monday-Thursday and 08:00-12:30 Friday.
