Senfocus is seeking friendly, patient and enthusiastic Swimming Instructors to provide one-to-one swimming support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) at the Greenwich Centre.
Instructors will support children with a range of needs, including autism, helping them develop their swimming ability, confidence and water-safety skills in a safe and encouraging environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one swimming lessons for children with SEND
- Adapt lessons to each child’s individual needs and abilities
- Help children develop their confidence and skills in the water
- Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive environment
- Follow Senfocus safeguarding and health and safety procedures
- Communicate appropriately with parents, carers and Senfocus staff
Applicants must:
- Hold a recognised Level 2 swimming teaching qualification
- Hold a safeguarding certificate or be willing to complete safeguarding training provided by Senfocus
- Be patient, reliable, encouraging and child-focused
- Be confident working with children with SEND
- Have an understanding of autism or be willing to complete relevant training
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
Available sessions:
- Mondays: 7:00pm–9:00pm
- Thursdays: 7:00pm–9:00pm
- Saturdays: 2:00pm–4:00pm
