Protection Adviser
Location: London | Hybrid
Salary: £26,000 basic + 20-50% commission OTE: £80,000+ achievable
An established, relationship-led financial services business is seeking an experienced Protection Adviser to join its growing team.
This is a genuine opportunity to build a long-term client book and sustainable income, rather than work in a high-volume, transactional environment. Clients are HNW and from proven, long-term relationships. In many ways this is similar to a self-employed role, but without the risk.
The Role
- Quality leads provided, primarily generated through the group’s mortgage and wealth management teams.
- Opportunity to advise both established professionals and high-net-worth clients.
- Strong cross-referral opportunities across mortgages, protection and wealth management.
- Sub-5% client lapse rate, demonstrating excellent client retention.
- Advisers retain ownership of their client relationships while employed.
- Hybrid working, with a strong preference for regular office presence and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has solid protection advice experience.
- Enjoys relationship-led selling rather than chasing high volumes of internet leads.
- Has an entrepreneurial, self-motivated mindset.
- Is proactive in building relationships with mortgage advisers, wealth managers and introducers.
- Is comfortable investing time upfront to build a long-term pipeline.
- Values teamwork, culture and long-term stability.
Package
£26,000 basic + commission
- Company-generated business: tiered up to 45% commission, depending on monthly production.
- Self-generated business: 50% commission.
- £80,000 OTE considered very achievable, with significant upside for advisers who develop their own introducer network.
- Salary acts as more of a guarantee - the growth and opportunity of self-employed but without the risk.
This role would suit an experienced Protection Adviser who wants quality leads, strong internal relationships and the opportunity to build a valuable client book over time, with the security of employment and the autonomy of a business-building mindset.
