Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and hygienic handling of laundry services within our establishment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment, contributing to the cleanliness and presentation standards of our facility. Prior hotel experience is considered an advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided. The position is suitable for individuals who are organised, reliable, and eager to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Duties
- Collect, sort, and load laundry items into washing machines and dryers according to established procedures.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Fold, iron, and prepare clean linen and clothing for distribution or storage.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Monitor laundry cycles and report any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies and detergents.
- Ensure all laundry is handled with care to prevent damage or contamination.
- Support other housekeeping or maintenance staff as required to uphold service standards.
Skills
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to operate laundry machinery safely and effectively.
- Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Reliable with a proactive approach to work responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physically fit to handle lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
