Senior Front of House / Team Leader
£14.00 per hour + tronc/tips
36–40 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced and confident Senior Front of House / Team Leader to join us at The Black Horse in Cranham.
This is a hands-on senior role for someone who enjoys hospitality, takes pride in great service and is comfortable taking responsibility for a busy shift.
We’re an independent country pub with a strong local following, serving quality food and drink in a relaxed but professional environment. We have an experienced team already in place and are looking for someone who can become an important part of the day-to-day running of the pub.
The role
You’ll work closely with our directors and existing Front of House Lead, helping to run services and maintain strong standards across the business.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading front-of-house shifts
- Opening and closing the pub
- Keyholding
- Cashing up and completing end-of-day procedures
- Managing customer queries and resolving issues confidently
- Supporting and training other team members
- Maintaining high standards of service and presentation
- Helping with stock, ordering and general operational tasks
- Taking responsibility for the pub when senior management are not on site
This is a hands-on role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working with customers and leading by example.
About you
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong experience in a pub, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
- Experience supervising or leading shifts
- Excellent customer service skills
- Confidence making decisions and taking responsibility
- Good communication and organisation
- A calm and reliable approach during busy services
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Previous supervisor, team leader or keyholder experience would be ideal.
Hours and pay
- £14.00 per hour
- Tronc/tips paid in addition to your hourly rate
- 36–40 hours per week
- Permanent, full-time position
- Wednesday–Sunday
- Mix of daytime and evening shifts
- Paid for all hours worked

At around 38 hours per week, the basic annual equivalent is approximately £27,700 before tronc.
We aim to run sensible rotas and, with multiple senior team members in place, give people the opportunity for occasional weekend evenings off.
