Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an Accountant to join a growing independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant, Semi Senior Accountant or experienced Accountant looking to progress their career within a supportive accountancy practice. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses (OMBs), SMEs, sole traders and limited companies, working across accounts, tax and advisory services.
The role offers excellent development opportunities, full study support and the chance to build your technical knowledge while working closely with experienced accountants and clients.
As an Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
- Assisting with accounts preparation from bookkeeping records through to final accounts.
- Supporting corporation tax and personal tax compliance work.
- Preparing VAT returns and assisting with bookkeeping tasks where required.
- Supporting management accounts, budgeting and forecasting assignments.
- Dealing with client queries and providing day-to-day accounting support.
- Assisting with advisory projects and ad hoc client assignments.
- Working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver a high-quality service.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience preparing accounts and supporting tax compliance work.
- AAT qualified, studying towards ACA / ACCA, or keen to progress professionally.
- Good knowledge of accounts preparation and UK accounting standards.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines.
- A genuine interest in developing advisory and client management skills.
