Danny Sullivan Group is currently recruiting for experienced CSCS Ducting Groundworkers to join a major construction and civil engineering project in Bath.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Groundworkers with proven ducting and underground services experience who are looking for 3-4 months of consistent night-shift work, competitive rates and reliable weekly pay.
Ducting groundwork involves excavating trenches and installing protective plastic pipes and ducts underground to safely house, organise and route utility cables and services.
Your responsibilities will include:

Excavating trenches to the required depth and specification for underground ducting
-
Installing protective plastic ducts and pipes underground to safely house and route utility cables and services
-
Positioning and laying ducts correctly within prepared trenches
-
Ensuring ducts are correctly aligned, spaced and installed in accordance with drawings and specifications
-
Preparing trench beds before duct installation, including appropriate bedding materials where required
-
Installing ducting for electrical, telecommunications and other underground utility services
-
Assisting with positioning and routing cables and services where required
-
Carrying out backfilling and compaction around installed ducting to protect underground services
-
Installing marker tape and other protective measures above underground services where required
-
Excavating safely around existing underground services
-
Working alongside excavator operators and other Groundworkers during trenching and duct installation
-
Using hand tools and small plant safely
-
Checking completed duct runs for correct position, depth and alignment
-
Maintaining clean, safe and organised working areas
-
Following construction drawings, RAMS, site instructions and health & safety procedures
-
Reporting damaged ducts, unidentified services, hazards or unsafe conditions immediately
-
Working efficiently as part of a busy night-shift civil engineering team

Valid CSCS Card

Previous experience as a Groundworker, preferably with ducting and underground services

Practical experience digging trenches and installing underground protective ducts
-
Understanding of how ducting is used to safely house and route utility cables and pipes
-
Experience working around existing underground services
-
Ability to work from construction drawings and specifications

Experience working alongside excavators and heavy plant
-
Good understanding of construction site health & safety
-
Reliable, hardworking and punctual
-
Must be available to work night shifts
-
Previous civil engineering or infrastructure experience is advantageous
-
£19.24 per hour PAYE or £21.50 per hour CIS
