Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tyre Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, repairing, and maintaining tyres on a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities
- Remove and replace tyres on passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and light machinery using appropriate hand and power tools
- Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and punctures, and advise on repairs or replacements as necessary
- Balance tyres to ensure smooth operation and minimise vibrations during vehicle movement
- Use specialised equipment to fit tyres securely onto rims and ensure proper inflation levels
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment after each job
- Assist with the storage and organisation of tyres and related tools in the workshop
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during tyre fitting procedures
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in tyre fitting or similar roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and tyre levers is essential
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting of tyres and related equipment regularly throughout the shift
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure tyres are fitted correctly and safely
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- A valid driving licence is advantageous but not mandatory
