About the Role
We are a growing pump services, tanker drainage and plumbing company, supporting commercial and industrial clients across the U.K. We are seeking an Engineering trained Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with hands on experience within industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has specialised experience as a Pump Engineer or is seeking an opportunity to utilise their Engineering skills to specialise within the pump industry and build a long-term career with installation, maintenance, and repair of pumping systems within the clean water and wastewater sectors across London and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of essential water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of clean water and wastewater pumping systems.
Diagnose faults and perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting on pumps, control panels, and associated equipment.
Conduct planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive breakdowns.
Work on a range of equipment including:
- Submersible pumps
- Booster sets
- Pressure systems
- Surface water and foul water drainage pumps
Provide on-site technical support and advice to clients.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and company standards.
Complete service reports, documentation, and job records accurately.
Participate in call-out rota for emergency works (if required).
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and customers to resolve issues efficiently.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience as a Pump Engineer or similar role within water, wastewater, or industrial sectors.
Strong mechanical knowledge pumps and associated systems.
Basic electrical knowledge (fault finding, controls, wiring).
Experience working with clean water and wastewater systems.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable
Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering).
Knowledge of pump control strategy.
Knowledge of pump technical specifications and system requirements.
Experience with major pump manufacturers (e.g. Grundfos, Flygt, Wilo, KSB).
Confined space training / CSCS / EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
Knowledge of telemetry systems.
Awareness of BMS control systems.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday (standard business hours)
- Occasional flexibility will be required depending on operational reactive needs
- Overtime and standby/call-out rota may be required
