An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Services team in an innovative position of Cancer Booking Clerk within The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Booking Clerks, supporting Cancer Pathways across the Northern Care Alliance (NCA).
This role is ideal for dynamic and flexible individuals with strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills, who can support the effective booking and coordination of patient appointments within cancer services.
The Booking Clerk will be pivotal in supporting patients to their initial first appointment to allow for early diagnostic investigations. Supporting patients with a suspected cancer to achieve a definitive diagnosis by day 28 following referral by the GP.
The Booking Clerk will be involved from the beginning of the pathway to work both directly and indirectly with both patients and their carers to assist attendance with a member of the clinical team.
Manage and coordinate patient appointment bookings across cancer pathways
Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, service users, and clinicians, both by telephone and email
Deal sensitively and confidently with complex or time‑critical situations
Maintain accurate patient records using a range of IT systems
Respond promptly to queries, changes, and service demand
