About the Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair work across the Kia model range in line with manufacturer standards.
Your duties will include:
- Routine servicing and maintenance
- Vehicle inspections and health checks
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and systems
- Completing adjustments, fluid changes and component replacements
- Carrying out comprehensive diagnostic and repair work
- Repairing engine, transmission and vehicle systems
- Working on safety, traction control and comfort systems
- Completing software updates and system programming
- Installing manufacturer-approved components and accessories
- Conducting final quality inspections and function tests
- Road testing vehicles where required
- Accurately completing job cards, repair records and warranty documentation
- Supporting colleagues with extensive repair and diagnostic work
- Working closely with Service Advisors on technical queries
- Maintaining high standards of workshop safety, housekeeping and quality
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
✅ Level 3 Automotive Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification (or equivalent)
✅ Previous experience as a qualified Vehicle Technician
✅ Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
✅ High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
✅ Ability to work effectively as part of a team
✅ Good written and verbal communication skills
✅ Full UK Driving Licence
Experience within a main dealer environment would be advantageous, although applications from skilled technicians with relevant experience are welcomed.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 08:00am - 5:30pm
Including:
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Two 15-minute unpaid tea breaks
42.5 hours per week
Alternative working patterns, including a 4-day week arrangement, may be considered.
