Restaurant Manager
Job Summary
Amrut Indian Dining, leicester is seeking an experienced, confident and hands-on Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our restaurant in Leicester city centre.
The successful candidate will lead the front-of-house team, maintain excellent service standards and ensure that every guest receives a warm, professional and memorable dining experience. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional who can manage a busy restaurant environment, support staff development and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
- Lead, motivate, train and supervise front-of-house team members.
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service, presentation and cleanliness.
- Manage staff rotas, attendance, shift allocation and daily briefings.
- Coordinate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure efficient service.
- Manage reservations, group bookings, events and special customer requests.
- Welcome guests, monitor their dining experience and resolve any concerns promptly and professionally.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, inventory control and reducing wastage.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, licensing, health and safety and company procedures.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
- Assist with cash handling, end-of-day procedures and operational reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and overall restaurant performance.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of front-of-house restaurant operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to motivate, train and manage a diverse team.
- Confident handling customer concerns and challenging situations.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise during busy services.
- Professional appearance and a positive, hands-on approach.
- Good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and licensing requirements.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
- Experience within a busy independent or fine-dining restaurant would be advantageous.
