About the Role
Shift patterns can vary:
Monday to Saturday or Tuesday to Sunday.
Hours: Weekdays 0700-1500 and 0600-1330 Weekends.
Pay: £12.86 for 3.5t drivers, £13.48 for succesful applicants with 7.5t entitlement.
Overtime rate is applicable for any hours worked over the standard 37, which is time and a half.
You’ll play a key part in maintaining the appearance of the New Forest by carrying out tasks such as:
- Litter picking and fly‑tip removal
- Graffiti cleaning and bin maintenance
- Snow clearance and other emergency response duties
- Supporting void property clearances and reactive works
You’ll often be a visible representative of the Council, so a friendly, professional approach is important.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- UK manual driving licence (minimum 3.5T)
- Good physical fitness
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong customer service skills
- Willingness to complete training (Manual Handling, First Aid, LANTRA Road Safety)
Desirable
- Experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of machinery and safe working practices
- Understanding of COSHH and waste regulations
This is an outdoor role in all weather, with full PPE and training provided.
