About the Role
A highly successful engineering company in Armagh is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer. You will join an established design team to develop innovative equipment and machinery from concept through to production. This role offers excellent progression and hands-on exposure to advanced manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D Modelling: Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using CAD software.
- Product Development: Design bespoke machinery, components, and structural elements to customer specifications.
- Bill of Materials: Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the procurement and production teams.
- Collaboration: Liaise with production staff on the workshop floor to resolve design issues and optimise manufacturing.
- Continuous Improvement: Modify existing designs to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve reliability.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 1–3 years of mechanical design experience within a manufacturing or heavy machinery sector.
- Software: Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor).
- Skills: Solid understanding of fabrication, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
