Your choice social centre is a day opportunities provider for adults with learning disabilities, Autism and complex needs.
At Your choice social centre, we are passionate about putting our members at the heart of our organisation. We offer a bespoke service to all our members creating packages designed for them. We are constantly looking to evolve and develop new opportunities for our members and future users.
We are looking for full time or part time Support workers to join our team.
The Role
Core responsibilities are
· To run both group and individual activities.
· Support members to access the local community
· Ensure support and development plans are followed, this will include personal care and other daily care needs such as giving medication.
· Ensure members receive appropriate encouragement and support to maximise their abilities and independence and are provided with suitable and varied recreational opportunities. This will include the importance of the members receiving a choice in what they do and when they do it.
Requirements
- Passionate about working with people and able to create an engaging atmosphere.
- Active listening skills for effective interaction with members and others.
- Good standard of English both verbally and written.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and saturdays as required
- Desirable full UK driving licence, willing to drive company vehicles.
- Previous experience of care or support worker role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate
