Brackley Fields Care Home – Brackley, Northamptonshire
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated team at Brackley Fields Care Home.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important part in ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals in a clean, welcoming environment. You'll work closely with our Kitchen Manager and care team to provide excellent food service while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and safety.
Brackley Fields Care Home is a warm and welcoming residential care home providing high-quality care for older people, including those living with dementia. Our kitchen is at the heart of the home, providing freshly prepared meals that residents look forward to every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Kitchen Manager with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day.
- Ensure all meals are presented to a high standard and meet residents' dietary, cultural and personal preferences.
- Prepare dining areas before mealtimes, including laying tables and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Wash and sanitise crockery, cutlery, glassware, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Follow all Food Hygiene Regulations, HACCP procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Assist with stock rotation, storage of food and checking deliveries.
- Work alongside the care team to help ensure residents have an enjoyable dining experience.
- Treat residents with dignity, respect and kindness at all times.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the smooth running of the kitchen.

- Is reliable, organised and has a positive attitude.
- Has good communication skills.
- Is willing to learn and follow food hygiene procedures.
- Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
