Hotel Receptionist
The Sitwell Arms Hotel – Renishaw, Sheffield
The Sitwell Arms Hotel is looking for a friendly, confident and professional Hotel Receptionist to join our team.
Reception is at the heart of our hotel and we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys looking after people. You'll often be the first person our guests meet and the last person they see when they leave, so personality, warmth and a genuine passion for great customer service are really important to us.
Working Hours
As a busy hotel, our Reception team operates 7 days a week, and this role will include evening and weekend working.
Our Reception shifts are:
- AM Shift: 7am – 3pm
- PM Shift: 3pm – 11pm
Applicants must therefore be flexible and able to work a mixture of AM and PM shifts across weekdays and weekends.
The Role
Working as part of our Reception & Reservations team, your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming guests and providing a friendly, professional check-in and check-out experience
- Handling bedroom reservations and guest enquiries by telephone, email and in person
- Taking payments and ensuring guest accounts are accurate
- Responding to guest requests and helping resolve any issues during their stay
- Working closely with Housekeeping and other hotel departments
- Promoting room upgrades, packages and other hotel services
- Ensuring special requests and important guest information are communicated effectively
- Completing Reception administration and shift handovers
- Helping us deliver the high standards of service our guests expect from The Sitwell Arms
About You
Previous hotel or Reception experience would be an advantage, but personality and attitude are just as important to us.
You'll need to be:
- Naturally friendly, welcoming and confident
- Comfortable speaking to guests both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Able to remain calm when things get busy
- A good communicator and team player
- Reliable and flexible
- Willing to take ownership and find solutions rather than simply passing problems on
