Overview
We are seeking an experienced Waiting Staff member to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in restaurant service, excellent guest relations skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, providing recommendations and upselling where appropriate
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Ensure guest satisfaction by checking on tables regularly and responding promptly to any requests or concerns
- Handle payments accurately, including processing cash and card transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including setting tables before service
- Assist with food safety procedures and adhere to health regulations at all times
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation when required
- Promote specials and new menu items to maximise sales opportunities
- Uphold a professional appearance and behaviour, representing the establishment positively
Requirements
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service, ideally in a similar role
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Good communication skills with a friendly, guest-focused attitude
- Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively to enhance guest experience and revenue
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
