Stock Controller
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected:
Responsibilities
-
Use the AX/ERP system to monitor, measure and maintain stock accuracy above the 95% minimum threshold to support valid MRP regenerations and business planning.

Take ownership of stock discrepancy investigations, including reviewing transaction history, physical stock checks, bin locations, system movements and process adherence.

Produce accurate inventory, bin location and discrepancy reports, highlighting trends, repeat issues and areas requiring corrective action.

Support and drive root cause analysis for stock errors, working with Warehouse, Production and Planning teams to prevent repeat discrepancies.
-
Maintain accurate stock quantities, bin locations and material master data within AX, ensuring system information reflects physical stock.

Support the development and control of cycle counting activities, including planned counts, follow-up investigations and reporting of results.

Assist with month-end, year-end and ad hoc stock checks, ensuring all counts are completed accurately and actions are followed through.

Act as the key contact for Warehouse and Production stock enquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.

Support improvements to reduce manual errors, improve stock accuracy and increase warehouse control.

Promote stock control procedures, including correct booking, movement, storage and transaction processes.

Support training and provide guidance to colleagues where recurring transaction or stock control issues are identified.

Follow Health & Safety guidelines, housekeeping standards and company procedures at all times.

Carry out stock control duties at off-site storage locations as required.

Required Education, Skills, Training and Experience
Skills
Essential:
-
Good working knowledge of AX/ERP systems, inventory control and stock transaction processes.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock data, reports and physical counts.

Ability to investigate stock discrepancies logically and identify root causes.
-
Good understanding of warehouse processes, stock movements, bin locations, goods-in, picking and material flow.
-
Confident communication skills.
-
Strong organisational and time management skills.
-
Competent using Windows-based systems, Microsoft Excel and stock reporting tools.
-
Ability to work independently and take ownership of stock control activities.
Desirable:
-
FLT/VNA experience or willingness to undertake training.
Experience
Essential:
-
Previous experience within a warehouse, stock control, inventory or materials environment.

Experience using an ERP or stock management system, ideally AX.
-
Experience carrying out stock checks, cycle counts, discrepancy investigations or inventory reporting.

Understanding of warehouse transactions, goods-in, picking, production supply and stock movement controls.
Desirable:

Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or automotive environment.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

Additional Information
Occasional travel to off-site storage locations within the UK may be required.
