Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team, specializing in the repair and maintenance of agricultural and horticultural machinery eg lawnmowers/hedgetrimmers/strimmers/whacker plates/cement mixers/generators/diggers and dumpers etc. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity. As a key player in our operations, you will utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery that keeps customer's equipment running smoothly. Duties
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on agricultural and horticultural machinery.
- Perform repairs including welding, fabrication and assembly of various equipment components.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections to prevent future failures.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized machinery to execute repairs efficiently.
- Repair or replace electrical wiring, sensors, switches, motors, and other electrical components to ensure safe operation.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly with colleagues and ensuring customer satisfaction with completed work.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical repair of heavy equipment or agricultural/horticultural (garden) machinery is essential.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding desirable.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting electrical issues on machinery.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Experience working with specialized equipment such as excavators or forklifts is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused attitude to deliver timely solutions.
