As we continue to grow, we're looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to support the development of our people function while gaining valuable hands-on experience across all areas of HR.
The Opportunity
This two-month internship is designed for someone looking to begin or develop a career in Human Resources.
You'll work closely with our senior management, supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement and HR administration while learning how a fast-growing luxury business operates.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical HR experience with the possibility of progressing into a permanent salaried position based on performance and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As an HR Intern, you'll assist with a variety of HR activities, including:
Recruitment
- Reviewing job applications and CVs.
- Screening candidates against role requirements.
- Scheduling interviews.
- Communicating with applicants throughout the recruitment process.
- Assisting with candidate tracking and recruitment reporting.
Onboarding
- Conducting onboarding.
- Coordinating new starter paperwork.
- Supporting employee inductions.
- Ensuring onboarding records are complete and accurate.
- Assisting with employee portal setup.
HR Administration
- Maintaining employee records.
- Updating HR databases and systems.
- Preparing contracts and employment documentation.
- Organising confidential personnel files.
- Supporting compliance with company policies.
Employee Support
- Responding to general HR enquiries.
- Supporting employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Assisting with internal communications.
- Helping organise staff meetings and engagement activities.
Learning & Development
- Assisting with training coordination.
- Tracking completion of mandatory training.
- Supporting the creation of training materials.
- Maintaining learning records.
HR Projects
- Supporting HR improvement initiatives.
- Researching HR best practices.
- Assisting with policy reviews.
- Contributing ideas to improve employee experience.

Working Hours
- Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate study or other commitments.
- Attendance at scheduled team meetings and training sessions is expected.

Throughout the internship, you'll receive ongoing training and support in areas including:
- Recruitment and talent acquisition.
- Employee onboarding.
- HR administration.
- Employment documentation.
- Employee relations.
- HR systems and processes.
- Professional communication.
- GDPR and confidentiality.
- Performance management fundamentals.
Regular one-to-one meetings will be held to review progress, provide feedback and support your development.
Progression Opportunity
This internship is designed as a pathway into a long-term career with Life of Riley Official.
Following the successful completion of the two-month internship, high-performing interns may be offered the opportunity to progress into a permanent salaried HR position, subject to business requirements and performance.
Typical permanent salary:
£25,000 – £35,000 per annum
