Essential Requirements
- Excellent communication skills with a good standard of written and spoken English
- Valid SIA Licence - no interview will be offered without both
- Fully checkable five years’ employment history as per BS7858
- First Aid Qualification
- Demonstrates basic numeracy and literacy skills for following instructions and preparing reports
- Demonstrates good observation skills and an attention to detail
- Remains calm and professional under pressure
- Always punctual and reliable
- Smart appearance, following the Consortio uniform requirements
Job Description
Consortio Security are looking to recruit 1 competent Security Officer to join our successful team working day and night shifts across our South Yorkshire portfolio. Ideally the successful candidate will reside in Sheffield or Doncaster (and be able to travel between the 2), or the surrounding areas. The successful candidate should be someone who prefers to work on multiple sites undertaking different roles and responsibilities by themselves.
You will play a key role in maintaining site safety, controlling access and egress, and delivering excellent customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Control all access and egress, utilising the equipment and systems provided
- Ensure all visitors to site are cleared through our National Control Centre (NCC) prior to allowing access
- Ensure clients’ staff, property and other assets are always secure
- Site Health and Safety and building well-being checks must be carried out as directed by your Regional Operations Manager
- Answer all enquiries courteously and professionally
- Accurately operate designated alarm systems
- Monitor CCTV footage for protection of property and assets
- Complete the daily log, noting all appropriate activity
- Produce accurate reports as and when needed
- Conduct sufficient internal and external patrols to ensure security of all zones utilizing technical capabilities
- Ensure all procedures, site / Assignment Instructions and protocols are always followed; being particularly diligent when in an emergency
- Always maintain tidy and clean work areas
- Thorough cleaning handover of all areas prior to handover from shift to shift
- Ensuring personal boundaries are always adhered to making sure that the line is never crossed
- Always book on and off your shift utilising the site mobile phone
- Be an effective ambassador for Consortio, always smart and diligent with elevated levels of integrity
